Frances
Cornford .
A HANS
ANDERSEN
SONG .
" COME
away ,
you
fools,
you
fools,
From
your
scented
wine and meat ,
Now
the
elves
with
splashing
feet
Dance
among
the
reedy
pools .”
Thus
across the
terraced
lawn,
Sang
a
streak
of
sunset
sky ,
And
a lord and
lady high
Listened , till the blinds
were
drawn .
“ Only
children
dream
of
elves,”
Tinkled
then
the
chandelier :
“ With maturer
wisdom
here
Sit
and
over eat yourselves.”
